Last week, I wrote about our 2010 Reyes Merlot and what pairs the best in my opinion. I have had many requests for this recipe. This is a great appetizer to serve at a Halloween party, Thanksgiving or even at any get-together. Every year, it seems pumpkin-spiced foods come out earlier and earlier. Blueberry Reyes Merlot 2010 Bread Pudding

This recipe requires three steps: Bread, Custard, and Reyes Merlot Sauce.  You can make the entire recipe from scratch or you can purchase the bread already made.

Ingredients for bread

1 egg

1 Tbsp. butter

3 Tbsp. sugar

1 ½ Tsp. kosher salt

3 cups bread flour

2 ½ Tsp. Bread machine yeast



Ingredients for custard


3 eggs

1/3 cup of sugar

1 ½ cups of non fat milk

½ cup of heavy whipping cream

1 Tbsp. cardamom

1 Tsp. vanilla
2 cups of fresh/dried blueberries (not frozen)

Spicy Cranberry Sauce with Reyes Winery 2010 Merlot Recipe

Growing up there was always a debate about the cranberry sauce, canned or fresh. Every year there always seemed to be both at the table. I definitely like fresh. Then recently, the new debate was relish vs sauce. I actually do like both. Since I am a fan of ginger, and some relishes have ginger I decided to experiment and make a sauce with relish flavors for Thanksgiving 2012.
