Reyes Winery unveiled Robert Reyes’ Newest Painting

gregOn July 13, 2013, Reyes Winery unveiled Robert Reyes’ newest painting, Pour to a Rose.  As guests arrived for this memorable event, they listened to relaxing live music played by the group “The Still Moving Project”.   All attendees tasted award-winning wines with cheeses and little desert bites in the Tasting Room.  Then off for a vineyard tour, where guests were able to view the grapes and see the current stage they are in, “verasion”. That is the period the grapes turn color from green to red.  Robert led the tour and talked about our upcoming wines and events planned here at the vineyard.  Then entering the barrel room for a taste of several other wines, one of which is 9 months old and the other is 20 months old.
beth 066Robert then explained the reason he was inspired to paint this new series in this genre, Still Life in Motion. Robert was inspired to paint Pour to a Rose when his wife Rosa came home on Valentine’s Day and brought with her a dozen pink long stem roses.  She then told him: “Since you didn’t bring me flowers, I brought these for you”.   He then took a rose as the showpiece and created this masterpiece for her.  All attendees received a signed litho of their choice of one of Robert’s “Vineyard Series” paintings.
beth 065We’re in the process of expanding our tasting room, which will feature Robert’s “Artist Proofs” that will be available for purchase.  The artist proofs will be limited edition and each one will be signed and numbered.  Robert was attracted to do Artist Proofs because one of his favorite masters, Rembrandt, also created Artists Proofs.  Currently Pour to a Rose is available for viewing during our vineyard, gallery, and barrel room tours.  Reservations are required for tours.  Tours are available weekends from 12pm-2pm or 2pm-4pm.
