This week I found some beautiful Saturn peaches. Those are the donut or oval shaped fuzzy fruit. Last week I had some plums and I will share they were horrible they had absolutely no flavor whatsoever, yet they were juicy. So, I was a little worried because it doesn’t seem to be a great year for fruit.
Back to my peaches, I was worried that they wouldn’t taste so great, but they actually surprised me, and they were quite yummy. So, I was thinking of a few different things I can do with these yummy peaches. The first thing that came to my mind was a peach barbecue sauce for grilled chicken. The sauce can be enjoyed with meatballs or grilled tofu. Also, I was thinking of a salad with red onions, peaches, blueberries and chevre cheese with a champagne vinaigrette. Then for dessert, mini peach pies that have a cinnamon cardamom crust with Muscat peach jam topped with chevre and pecan….and don’t forget that scoop of vanilla ice cream. This delicious meal will be paired with our 2014 Muscat.
Our 2014 Muscat is a limited production wine with notes of peaches and honey and has with a delicious kumquat finish. It’s remarkably delicious on its own. Only 68 cases were produced. Pairs well with spicy tuna roll or poke, and even a golden beet a peach chilled soup.
This week our 2014 Estate Muscat will be on sale for 15% per bottle and if you purchase 6, you will get 20% off. Make your reservations now for a tasting or Curbside pickup is an option too!
